Author’s Note

Thank you so much for reading For the Love of Shadows. It is Book One in the Haunting Passions Series. It is an interesting mix of the things I love which are ghostly stories and romances that stretch across the ages. Who doesn’t like a little time-lapse in haunted romances? I have been waiting a long time to begin this series. If you are familiar with my work, then you know that For the Love of Shadows a bit different than what I normally write. Some of you are not used to reading passionate scenes in my stories (shame on me) but I believe that each scene was a necessary part of the story. It is not my wish to offend anyone.

I hope that you, dear reader, enjoyed For the Love of Shadows! That is always my hope, to please my friends and fans with memorable characters and interesting stories.

Although I used my own name in the story it is not about me. I was never married to a mysterious millionaire nor have I been in love in love with a ghost. I am happily married (twenty-three years at the time of this book) and I live on a ranch in South Mississippi. I thought it would be fun to use my own name for this story just to say that I’ve done it.

At the time I will have written over eighty books and I intend to continue writing as long as you continue reading.

This story and the ones that come after it (which will be connected to Monica and Max) were inspired by the many ABC Movies of the Week I watched growing up. How many of you remember Jane Seymour and The Haunting Passion movie or Lindsay Wagner in The Two Worlds of Jenny Logan? I could not get enough of films like that in the 70s and 80s. (I like scary but not demonic. You’ll never see me write those.) Those movies had a definite impact on me. They were books I loved reading and movies I loved to watch. Another great movie I will never forget was called The Child of Glass. If you haven’t had the chance to see it check it out, you should. It’s a ghost story for the ages. Disney produced it in 1978.

As far as Fayette Castle goes, there are many notable castles in the United States and more than one in Virginia. It shouldn’t be too hard for you to figure out which one I based the current story on but as I borrowed bits and pieces from here and there I decided to leave out that information.

I enjoyed my time at the fictional Fayette Castle and I look forward to going back there in peeking in the rooms. I am dying to learn more about Monica’s past loves and possible future.

If you enjoyed the book, drop me a note, please. Let me know what you thought about this story.
